Christmas cards for Xavier Project - Blog | Letter Press

An update from Xavier Project!

For the last two years Xavier Project have been very kindly supported by the Letter Press of Cirencester. 10% of all their Christmas card sales are donated directly to us and this has been a vital source of income to our young charity.

Xavier Project aims to provide opportunities to refugees living in urban areas in Kenya and Uganda who are otherwise excluded from the means to live a fulfilled and dignified existence. We hope that with our help they will be able to take back control of their lives and make a positive change whether to their new communities or to their country of origin.

Xavier Project

Our main area of focus is towards education. We now sponsor over 100 children through primary and secondary education and this number is growing each year. Besides just sending them to school we have created a range of services that aid the entire school rather than just our students. Our mobile library is a perfect example of this and it is a service that the kids are crazy about as they very rarely get to have their own reading books.

Our media program Tamuka has also been a fantastic success and is an area we are really hoping to grow further over the coming years. Tamuka aims to get refugees online so they can connect with each other, continue their education and get access to unbiased information. After the huge triumphs of our Tamuka Hub in Uganda we are currently in the process of starting our next in Nairobi. Here we offer a range of computer training courses and provide free internet access to the refugees.

These programmes have already helped many but there are still thousands in Kenya and Uganda who still need our help. That is why we are so grateful to companies like the Letter Press who share our ethos and passion for helping others around the world. Please support us and those we work for by buying some of the beautiful Christmas cards being sold by the Letter Press. How to write a great letter April 5, 2017

In this modern age of emails, text and direct messaging, even Snapchat, you would think that writing a letter is becoming a lost art and one that many people simply don’t know how to do.
