A-Z Wedding Planning - Part 2

August 19, 2016

Following on from last months a-z of wedding planning this month we've covered of N-Z. We can't underestimate the value of good planning to create a memorable day your friends and family will remember for many years to come.

Numbers

Usually linked with budget but sometimes also your chosen wedding venue. And once you’ve decided on how many to invite you then have to ensure you print enough wedding stationery, ensure you have plenty invites spare just in case. You also need to ensure you calculate the right number of…. well….everything from wedding favours, place names, to order of service stationery and obviously food.

Order of Service

The order of service is the first glimpse your guests will get of what your memorable day will be like. From the wedding service itself, who’s doing the readings, the hymns and what is planned for the rest of the special day together.

Place Cards

Sometimes it’s the little things that count, making sure everyone knows where they’re sitting is important so there are no long debates, and saves a huge amount of time. Often wedding days are under some quite rigid time constraints that you really don’t want your guests to know about, you want them to relax and enjoy the days as unfolds around them Place cards allow all that to happen. Plus if they’re in the same style as all your other wedding stationery and invites then they add to the whole ‘brand style’ of your wedding. They also add to the table settings adding to the all important WOW factor when guests first see their dining experience.

Qualms

It’s natural to have them before your big day. Nerves about whether or not everything will go to plan during the day as you’ve been planning so carefully over the months are expected. Almost expect something to go wrong, then generally whatever happens will not be as bad as you expected. Also qualms about whether you’re doing the right thing can happen to the most stable of couples. It’s a big decision not to be taken lightly. Trust your own inner instincts.

Reply Card

Again, it’s often the little things that make all the difference. Adding a pre-printed reply card matching all your Wedding stationery and invites looks wonderful but also allows your invited guests a very easy way to reply promptly allowing you to be able to plan reserve guests to invite in plenty of time so you can plan that all important Wedding seating plan.

Stationery

We can’t impress on the importance of great wedding stationery, obviously. From the obvious wedding invitations to smaller items like Thank you cards co-ordinating them all together enables you to communicate the ‘brand’ of your wedding, it’s style and let’s invited guests know the type and style of the wedding day celebration to come.

Table Name Cards

If you’ve got quite a few people sitting down fro the wedding breakfast then allowing guests to see which table they are on from the seating plan to the wedding table name cards down to the place names to their individual seat means a smooth running wedding day. Plus beautifully designed they add to your overall ambience of your wedding.

Ushers

So important. Not just for a great night out on the stag night either. They help organise guests throughout the day ensuring everything runs to plan. Good ushers know what the day holds and will be seen organising throughout the day with effortless ease. Plus they’ve got to look dapper during the photos too.

Vows

Whether you write your won or follow traditional with set vows they are really what the day is all about. Promising yourself to another for the rest of your life. Often with a tear shed from the congregation – good tears though.

Wedding

What else could we add for W! It’s what it’s all about.

X-tra Invitations

If you’re inviting 100 people don’t print 100 wedding invitations. As some guests will not be able to come. You may mess up a few while writing names etc. and you’ll need to be able to send out extra invites to those on your reserve list. Printing extra invitations at a later date is very expensive, as printers have to be –set up etc. Having them printed at the first time is by far the best option. Often adding more for very little or even no cost at all. It all makes sense. Plus you’ll want a few left over to be able to remember your special day.

You

Yes…. It’s all bout you. And this time it really is. Everyone is there to celebrate your wedding. Enjoy it for once.

Zzz

Plenty of Zzzz before the big day keep you relaxed, let your enjoy it to the full and ensure you’re looking your best. Often easier said than done, but you know it makes sense.
