Guide to Selecting The Perfect Wedding Stationery

Whether you are planning to send a save the date card, wedding invitation or thank you card, it can be somewhat daunting when making a decision with the vast choice available. The save the date and wedding invitation set the tone and theme for a wedding, so it is important you make this considered decision carefully.

The first item for consideration is the colour. Once you have decided on a colour scheme, many decisions relating to the big day are halved in difficulty such as the floral arrangements, bridesmaid’s dresses and table decorations. The design of the invite is personal to each couple and should be chosen based on what you want, not what you think you should have.

Some invitations are very traditional and simple, whereas others are unique. We have a variety of designs, some of which are pictured below.

For traditionalists, we have the Orchid, a clever combination of ink colour, typeface and backing board that makes for a sophisticated yet unaggressive design, Baroque, a combination of hot-foil and a fine impression into a water colour board, and Classic, which remains our most popular design, with Marina script (bottom three images). For those with creative flair, we have the Rohan, a mixture of flamboyance and restraint with Rhodamine ink and bevelled edges, Billboard, which is reminiscent of fairground posters, hand painted by village craftsmen and Butterfly, using foil which catches the light most elegantly.

Ensure you take the time needed during this decision process and order samples to review the quality and feel of the design before committing to a purchase. Samples from Letter Press are generic and incur a cost, which is refundable once an order is placed.

Allowing time for your invites to be made is essential. Timing varies according to seasonality but for normal service please allow three to five working days for proofing and eight to ten days after approval for despatch of goods. For an express service proofs are issued within one working day of receipt of order and are despatched within four to five working days of approval.

How to write a great letter April 5, 2017

In this modern age of emails, text and direct messaging, even Snapchat, you would think that writing a letter is becoming a lost art and one that many people simply don’t know how to do. But actually it’s not. As digital technologies take over, well almost everything, we can see that trends are moving back towards more traditional values. Music, once it was vinyl, then tape, then CD, then MP3 players, and now streaming, such as Spotify, but what’s growing exponentially? It's vinyl again. The same with jigsaws and colouring books away from computer games.
